Transforming Lives

Through Hope and Opportunity

About Our Work

The Lobiko Initiative is dedicated to co-developing sustainable solutions in Gemena, Democratic Republic of Congo, and beyond.

Key initiatives include:

Our Commitment

Our unwavering commitment is to be a steadfast bridge connecting the present reality to a future filled with potential—our dedication centers on partnering with individuals and organizations deeply embedded in underserved regions and communities. We seek out and support these local leaders and grassroots organizations, empowering them to craft solutions and implement sustainable projects to enhance people's lives within their communities.

Our Story

Children’s well-being directly contributes to their communities’ social, economic, and cultural fabric. As they grow, they become the architects of a better future, and their success is intricately interwoven with the progress of the places they call home.

We believe in

A better life in a thriving community.

Globally, according to the World Bank, 700 million people live below the poverty line - surviving on less than $2.15 a day. In Africa as a whole, 4 in 10 people live in poverty, and in Congo, at least 7 in 10 people live below the poverty line.

Imagine a world where every child has a safe place to call home, where every family has access to quality healthcare, where every individual has opportunities for meaningful employment, and where every community has the basic resources to thrive. This is the world that Lobiko is working to create.

A better life through partnership.

We firmly believe that enduring and significant change is most effectively enacted when those intimately familiar with the pressing challenges lead the way. Our dedication centers on partnering with individuals and organizations deeply embedded in underserved regions and communities confronted by substantial barriers, including limited infrastructure and global inequalities. We seek out and support these local leaders and grassroots organizations, empowering them to craft solutions and implement sustainable projects to enhance people’s lives within their communities.

What Compels Us to Serve

We live in a world where technological advancement, medical breakthroughs, and various innovations have improved many lives. Yet, millions of people continue to experience harsh (often unimaginable) living conditions due to violence and poverty.

In Congo, where war and oppression have taken over 6 million lives, the cycle of violence and poverty continues to undermine millions of people's wellbeing.
